I Hate It When Exercise Is The Answer… Emily Watts
“Someone who is as good with words as you are ought to be able to figure out a way to use them to build people up instead of tearing them down.” “We were talking in Sunday School about how to repent of things that hapened so far in our past that we can’t really make restitution… Repent of whatever quailty it was that made you behave that way in the first place.”
Exercise #18: Repenting
“The next time some incident pops into your mind that you can’t see how to repent of, dig deeper to discover what quality of character was behind the action. Try repenting of that instead. It’s harder, but it will serve you better in the long run.”
This should be interesting. I can think of a myriad of faults I have and I’m guessing depending upon the situation and which button got pushed, any one of them could come to the fore. Should be thought provoking (not to mention painful) to go mining for motivations. I hope I can remember to do it!
