So ran across TWO aticles from two completely different time periods (late 80’s and early 00’s) re: “personal impossible.” They both essentially encourage figuring out what that is for you individually and then praying God-sized prayers.
The idea is to take John 5:14-15 at face value:
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
I was at women’s conference a few years ago and came away with a couple of phrases that really stuck with me. That God is a much more God, and the other was “make me the man!” Okay I guess I should share the scripture that prompted that last phrase to prevent confusion:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
If you are the “man” who is giving then you have so much you are able to spill over and give to others. Yes, Lord. Make ME the man!! That’s my first impossible prayer.
